It's a shame that Amadi didn't pan out. His first year or two in the league looked promising. Blair seemed more promising, so it's not surprising he's the guy who's still on the team.

As for J.J. Arcega-Whiteside, I'm a bit familiar because my wife's from Philly and her family is into the Eagles. Let's just say that I didn't speak much about DK at family gatherings because it was a sore spot. In fact, the less said about the Seahawks the better.

Arcega-Whiteside was clearly a bust. If he can resuscitate his career in Seattle, it will be one more thing I won't discuss. Otherwise, perhaps we can have a laugh together at some point.

My guess is both guys were about to get cut so the teams swapped. The Hawks and Eagles have long had a certain rapport at the level of executive suites. I sense an underlying relationship that both sides value and consider more important than any particular transaction.

Ucome, Ugo in the Not For Long universe.

Not a splashy trade, but hopefully both players can wind up having a better run with their new franchises.

Eagles fans are surprised they got anything in return for Arceaga.

Thoughts regarding J.J. Arcega-Whiteside...

Looking back and remembering what an effective FB Marcel Reese made (4 time Pro Bowler) because he was such a good blocker in open space and had legit receiving chops (for that position), makes me think the JJAW acquisition would be best used as a development piece for an alternate future.

Marcel was a big bodied WR at the University of Washington who ran 4.45 sec. 40 yd. He had the speed but not the fluidity to make it as a NFL receiver. Miami gave up on its athlete and the Raiders saw something more and invested over a year to develop his next role.

Reese became by far the fastest FB in the league along with the best hands for that position. His ability to locate blockers in space made him invaluable blocker as a for Darren McFadden as well as standout special teams regular. He even spelled as a RB at times. The 'Hawks may have found next year's FB/special teams replacement (plus he can serve as a 4th TE / 6th WR) for their beloved, but rather old, Nick Belore.

Thinking outside the box also made our own Michael Robinson a Pro Bowl FB, after being a QB for Penn State...JJAW is similarly fast and also without the fluidity to face off against CBs but he can go against LBs, and he is a highly rated blocker...Just sayin' - this does not have to be a swap of players w/o futures.

Is it wrong that I would have preferred a 5th round pick instead? Probably too high a price for the destined-for-waivers Amadi tho. Maybe a 7th?
